What is a Grant Advisory Team (GAT)?
Each grant cycle Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership, Inc. (LNRP) gives out a number of grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 (depending on available funds) to support creative local community efforts to maintain or improve the health of our natural resources in northeastern Wisconsin.. The volunteer members of the Grant Advisory Teams review applications, help select which projects receive funding, and monitor the outcome of the funded projects.
- Each of the four Advisory Teams focus on a specific basin issue.
- Each project is assigned to an appropriate Team, which then works with the grant applicant to assure a quality project is the result.
How do the Advisory Teams select projects?
LNRP awards grants to a variety of community-based projects. The application process is designed to be interactive and supportive. Applicants work with their specific Team to consider ways to develop their project to ensure a successful result. Grants are awarded twice a year.
Inquiries and applications for funding may be submitted year-round. Inquiry@LNRP.org
Who Volunteers for Advisory Teams?
LNRP welcome volunteers with diverse backgrounds - professionals who work on land or water issues for a living, those who just enjoy doing things like canoeing, fishing, or bird watching in the basin, or any of the many individuals who work with others to improve the natural resources in the basin.
