Ledge Tours...
A Celebration of the Niagara Escarpment
We offer exciting Ledge Tours of interesting geological and cultural features of the Niagara Escarpment in Wisconsin's lakeshore region. In the past, we visited the 75-year-old Calumet County Park. On Door County's Washington Island, we discovered that one day was not sufficient to take in all the amazing sites and features under the tutelage of Sandy Petersen, a most knowledgeable guide. We learned about grazing practices to promote soil and groundwater health in Kewaunee County. We also learned about Wequiock Falls and Bay Shore County Park from UW-Green Bay professor Dr. John Luzcaj.
We will offer some more extraordinary experiences with plans underway for more Ledge Tours. We have expanded our original Tours to work in conjunction with the Niagara Escarpment Resource Network and invite your input and suggestions for places you'd like to visit.
Here is a downloadable PDF map of Niagara Escarpment Geological Points of Interest.
Please contact Eric Fowle at www.escarpmentnetwork.org or Sherrill Anderson at Sherrill@LNRP.org with questions and suggestions.
