Director of Communications and Development
Nanette brings to LNRP her passion for the outdoors and extensive experience in writing, education, community engagement, and public speaking. She has worked as a journalist, a librarian, and as a college and high school teacher, and has lent her writing and photography skills to numerous corporate, non-profit, political and civic organizations. Nanette worked her way through college covering local news and politics for WHBL Radio, where she later served as news director. She continued her broadcast career at radio stations in Indiana, Colorado and Wyoming and, later, as an editor and staff writer for the Wyoming Eagle and The Sheboygan Press. She has taught in Wisconsin, Indiana, Wyoming, and Japan, and also served as director of the Kiel Public Library for seven years.
She met her husband Hans Kuhn, a 4th generation dairy farmer, while covering education for the Sheboygan Press (he was chair of the local school board). They served as co-chairs of the Sierra Club-Algonquin Shores Group and worked together on several non-profit boards and political campaigns.
Nanette has a BA in English and history and a Master of Education from Lakeland University, and a Master of Library & Information Science from UW-Milwaukee. She currently serves as vice president of the Lakeland University Alumni Ambassadors, a steering committee member of Forward Sheboygan, and co-host of WSCS-TV’s Legislative Update program. Her passions include writing, photography, film, theater, swimming, and walking outdoors.
