“We All Live on the Water” Endowment Fund

At our core, Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership (LNRP) is all about conservation, collaboration, and community, from the (Niagara Escarpment) Ledge to the (Lake Michigan) Lakeshore. LNRP empowers our regional networks, watershed partners, and community groups with the tools they need to effectively engage community residents and steward their precious land and water resources. Together, we strive to enhance the health of our entire Lakeshore Basin for future generations.

In line with this guiding purpose, LNRP proudly established the “We All Live on the Water” endowment fund in the autumn of 2021 to ensure the sustainability of our collective impact.

What’s an Endowment Fund?

The endowment fund represents our organization’s permanently invested capital that generates funds (annual interest/dividend earnings) to support our staff and partner groups. Each year our organization makes available part of the endowment earnings for the purpose of advancing our mission, activities, and projects. To protect against inflation, and to help the fund grow over time, a portion of the endowment earnings may be added back to the endowment principal.

Our Endowment Fund Challenge & How You Can Help

Thanks to the inspiring generosity of an anonymous donor, we have a special opportunity to significantly increase the impact of endowment fund giving as part of our LNRP 20th anniversary milestone! The anonymous donor has offered to contribute $1 for every $3 given to our LNRP Endowment Fund, up to a maximum contribution by this donor of $25,000. And, all of that giving adds up in a big way! If we can raise $75,000 in donations and pledges by December 31st, our anonymous donor will contribute a total of $25,000. This would bring our endowment fund to $100,000!

Our heartfelt gratitude to our generous anonymous donor, and to all of you who make your own generous gift to our LNRP Endowment Fund and help us secure this Challenge Gift!
