LNRP's Statement on Biodiversity

LNRP developed a biodiversity statement to guide, inform, and re-affirm our commitment to fostering biodiversity in our conservation and restoration work:

Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership (LNRP) was established in 2003 to cultivate conservation, collaboration, and community throughout Wisconsin’s Lakeshore region.

LNRP promotes cooperative land protection and stewardship, education, and evidence-based decision making that within broader goals seeks to protect biodiversity of Wisconsin’s Great Lakes flora and fauna. LNRP recognizes that biodiversity encompasses life at all scales, including individual organisms, populations, and ecosystems. As global processes like climate change affect the entire planet, biodiversity increasingly includes the whole biosphere, and every small part is significant. LNRP will continue to foster community activities that increase biodiversity in our region that spans from the ledge of the Niagara Escarpment to the Lake Michigan shore.

We created this short video to showcase the importance of biodiversity, how it connects to our work, and how you can be part of protecting it:
