LNRP Spring 2025 Updates from Board President Mike Vandersteen
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Each spring, transformations happen all around us, flowers bloom and maple sap flows. This season similarly brings new energy to LNRP's work, as we have spent the winter discerning how to better serve our community. Ensuring that LNRP thrives for decades to come requires creativity, efficacy, and proactiveness
We have appreciated the work of Mike Mullen, and we are sad to say that he has formally parted ways with LNRP. As a result, the organization has decided to restructure: an effort that will streamline costs and allow us to reinvest strategically in what we do best.
On April 30th, LNRP's Board of Directors unanimously and confidently named Amy Lentz as the Acting Executive Director. Amy has excelled in her Director of Projects role and brings a passion that is strengthened by her intimate knowledge of the organization. LNRP's Board of Directors also unanimously voted to increase Patricia Scuglik's responsibilities, as she will maintain her Director of Partnerships title and take on additional executive and fund development responsibilities. Amy and Patricia are proven change-makers, and hold deep agency knowledge, ensuring continuous improvement on LNRP's 23-year foundation.
We are confident that this change will empower the organization to increase its impact and better serve the communities and waterways of Northeastern Wisconsin. Together with all of you, we hope to reforest coastal ecosystems, restore our native habitat, clean up our beaches, and engage with community members from the Niagara Escarpment to the shores of Lake Michigan.
There is much more work to be done, with an exciting future for our organization, as well as for the Northeast Lakeshore Region.
Thank you,
Mike Vandersteen
Board President
