The Ozaukee County Watershed Coalition (OCWC) is a group established in 2021 to conserve and restore the watersheds of Ozaukee County, with initial focus on the Ulao Creek and Sauk Creek watersheds, including the Sucker Creek sub-basin. It functions as part of the Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership (LNRP) and serves as an advisory body, a conduit for information flow, a venue for raising awareness, and an organizing body for habitat restoration projects and water quality monitoring.
Established in early 2021, the Ozaukee County Watershed Coalition (OCWC) is a group of stakeholders working to conserve and restore the watersheds of Ozaukee County. Conservation engagement and restoration work will focus upon the Ulao Creek Watershed and the Sauk Creek Watershed, including the Sucker Creek sub-basin, during the initial grant period, with the possibility of an expanded future focus across Ozaukee County.
Functioning as part of the Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership (LNRP) administrative umbrella, OCWC will connect multiple conservation stakeholders and serve several community-based functions:
An engaged citizen group acting as an advisory body.
A conduit for information flow from local, state, and regional management agencies.
A venue to raise awareness by bringing expertise (Water Quality, Invasive Species, Non-Point Runoff, Endangered Species) to the community via seminars and work plans.
An organizing body for complementary habitat restoration projects and water quality monitoring.
